Takeaways from Gartner Symposium/ITxpo

I had the honor of representing Egnyte at Gartner Symposium/ITxpo in Orlando a few weeks ago. The event was completely sold out, and it was the perfect opportunity for us to raise awareness about Egnyte and speak with decision makers in nearly every industry. Here are a few of my takeaways from spending the week speaking with attendees and potential customers of Egnyte at our booth and during the evening activities.

First and most importantly, each person that specifically stopped by the booth to find out more about Egnyte had a very clear use case in mind. The conversation went from “What does your company do?” to "I have a problem I'm looking to solve." Being a hands-on type of person, I

jumped at the opportunity to show how easy Egnyte can make this "problem" go away.

One CIO in particular stood out. He told me that his current method for keeping his five key office locations in sync was broken. He pulled out a pen and paper to draw out the issue. Once he had completed the explanation of the problem, it was clear to me that Egnyte was a perfect fit for his use case. With our turnkey Storage Sync deployment option, I explained how easily we could deploy exactly what he was trying to accomplish. I look forward to having a deeper discussion with him in the coming days.

Beyond the great conversations, Gartner really knows how to put on an event. The people that came asked the right questions and were honestly looking for ideas to move their enterprise into the cloud. The event was well organized - thanks to the Gartner event coordinators and our very own events manager, Audrey Saunders. Oh, and the Hollywood Studios evening event was fantastic. Egnyte will return next year, and if I'm so honored, I'd be happy to attend!
